Tearing along a seam - repairable?

2 answers

Hello,

I'm in a lot of trouble because the leather has fallen off a few centimetres along a seam in the seat of my mini ( from 2009). The seam is well in place and solid but the leather has fallen off at the stitches.

Is a repair possible on such a tear? (Mini suggests that I replace the whole seat...)

Sincerely,

Stone

Hello,

It is reparable, you stick under the leather 1 leather strip under each edge (2 to 3 cm wide) and you can sew with a curved needle to bring the edges together, the leather will be solid at the stitches.

Sincerely

Thank you for your answer. Just for confirmation, there is only one side open, the other is still held by the seam. Is it necessary to dissolve the opposite side to glue the baking strip to it and then sew the whole thing together?
By thanking you,
Stone
