I had prepared the car seats with nourishing oil a couple of months prior to commencing the renovation. I sanded and then wiped the seats with acetone, then applied 2 coats of pigment dye, and the seats look amazing. However, 48 hours later the seats are dry but still slightly sticky; the pigment paint does not come off on clothes, but little fibres from clothes stick to the paint. I have not yet applied varnish. Will it improve if left to dry another week?
What can I now do to make the restoration a success? Can you outline the steps and products that I need please. Do I need to use acetone first to remove the pigment I applied - ie a lot of acetone? Then a degreaser (which one?)? Then sand, acetone again and use your leather Primer product, before recolouring again?
Your advice will be welcome, thank you
